Founded by brothers Benyam and Yonathan Yohannes, 51 & Tel is a reflection of their lifelong connection to Oakland’s vibrant food and drink scene. Growing up in their parents’ iconic Ethiopian restaurant, Asmara, they always dreamed of creating something uniquely their own.
Now, they’ve reimagined the bar space next door, blending timeless design with a fresh, fun, and welcoming energy.
From the glowing patio featuring local art to the handcrafted cocktails that celebrate bold, unforgettable flavors, every detail of 51 & Tel was thoughtfully designed to bring people together.
